Fight Card Preview

Ciryl Gane came up short in his title unification bid against Francis Ngannou at UFC 270 earlier this year and now, faced with the responsibility of stopping Tai Tuisava, who has acted more like a wrecking ball, since coming off his one year break.

Next Big Card – UFC 279 Fight Card – Khamzat Chimaev Vs Nate Diaz

Gane took the UFC heavyweight by storm racking up 10 straight victories before stumbling to his first professional loss against Champion Ngannou. The Frenchman will look to get back to winning ways and will be backed by his Fans in Paris.

Tuisava will look to improve his record, which most recently has five stoppages including consecutive Fight Of The Night performances against Greg Hardy and Augusto Sakai, then started the year with a second round finish of Veteran contender Derrick Lewis.

The stakes are high and the winner will most likely fight for the Heavyweight title in the nearest future. Gane will be looking to secure a rematch with Ngannou, while Tuisava will hope to break into the title mix with a victory.

Supporting the card is a collision between two top Middleweight fighters, Marvin Vettori and former two time middleweight champion Robert Whittaker. The two have both lost twice to reigning middleweight champion Isreal Adesanya and are colliding to decide, who faces the “Last Style Bender” Next.

Whittaker has been a good draw at middleweight, with an almost perfect record, save his two losses to Adesanya. He showed an improvement in his last attempt at the title but will now have to face those on the cue to earn himself another chance at the Middleweight strap.

Vettori has a very good record at middleweight, accumulating a 7-0-1 record in the last five years, with his only blemish being his two losses to Isreal Adesanya. He was able to dominantly take out Paulo Costa bouncing back from his defeat at UFC 263 and will become the next No. 1 contender with a win over Whittaker on September 3rd.
