Fight Card Preview
Khamzat Chimaev has had an impressive start to his UFC Career and will be looking to take out another veteran Welterweight contender Nate Diaz in his bid to secure a UFC title shot.
Chimaev has had a quick rise in the UFC thanks to his unbeaten streak. He has never lost a MMA fight, racking up eleven victories and of those, are five in the UFC. He most recently defeated Gilbert Burns with a unanimous decision in April.
Diaz has made a name for himself in the Octagon and has been through many Wars. However, he hasn’t been successfully against the new generation of fighters. His last two bouts have been losses to Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal. The most notable moments in his two losses is the near knockout moment against present Welterweight Champion Edwards and the later survived.
Canelo Alvarez Vs GGG 3 Preview, Full Fight Card, Results, Links To Highlights & Recap
Chimaev is a huge favourite going into this fight and is a better grappler than Diaz, who is a striker. The only trouble Diaz might cause Chimaev is his ability to pull a submission out of no where.
Ranked No. 3 Chimaev will be going in against the most experienced fighter in his career, Diaz will be entering the last fight on his UFC contract. Diaz also has 13 Losses on his career but only three of those are stoppages. These include Josh Thomson, Jorge Masvidal and Hermes Franca.
With the record, Chimaev might have a little issue earning a stoppage against Diaz as durability seems to have grown deep into his fight game.
