Conor Benn Vs Chris Eubank Jr – Officially Cancelled After Failed Legal Attempt To Plead Benn’s Case

Benn, a natural welterweight was to meet Chris Eubank Jr, who has mostly fought at Middleweight & Super Middleweight in a catchweight fight this coming weekend at the O2 Arena. However, Benn returned a positive result for a pre-fight drug test conducted by VADA. After proper investigation, the fight has now officially been called off.

Benn tested positive for clomifene and after the revelation, the British Boxing Board Of Control (BBBoC) issued a statement prohibiting the fight from taking place. However, the Chief promoter of the fight, Eddie Hearn tried fighting the statement with a legal team on Thursday but that too has ended a fruitless effort.

Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr are second generation Boxers, whose parents had shared the ring in the past and together had one of the biggest rivalries in the 90’s. The now cancelled fight between Benn and Eubank Jr was promoted in that light and drew so much attention. The fight looked to be the biggest boxing attraction in the UK before the cancellation.

A decision on Benn’s case is still unknown as the hearing will be made on Friday to decide his fate
