Bournemouth 2 – 1 Leicester City – The Cherries Move 8th After Impressive Comeback Victory

Bournemouth came from behind to defeat Leicester City 2 – 1 at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon, moving eight on the Premier League Table after claiming all three points, thanks to Second Half goals from Philip Billing and Ryan Christlie.

The Foxes took an early lead, taking advantage of a deflected strike from Barnes to take the lead which was maintained till the break. However, some erroneous defending from the visitors saw their lead disappear before their eyes and eventually all three points in the space of 10 minutes.

It took just four minutes for Bournemouth to muster a good attempt on target and had a lot of chances in the opening 20 minutes but Leicester were the once in front. Tielemans faked a cross before sending it to Barnes but the resulting shot is blocked and deflects off Sensei to Lerma down to Patson Daka, who makes no mistake with the finish.

Leicester City are having their worst season since moving to the Premier League and sat bottom of the standings before their visit to the Vitality Stadium on Match Day 9. Bournemouth have also had a poor season but rating from points on the EPL Table, compared to other teams it’s pretty average.

The game was pretty much even after the break as each struggled with possession and had very little progress in the final third. With almost 20 minutes left in the 2nd half, Leicester lost their leads by mostly being the architects of their downfall. It Bagan with a short throw and Solanke gave Faes a lot of problems till the Belgian gave in. Solanke took the ball into the box and fired but that got blocked, fizzling into Philip Billing and he blasted the ball high into the roof of the net to level the game in the 68th minute.

Bournemouth took the lead 10 minutes later after Solanke heads the ball perfectly into Ryan Christie’s path and the latter made no mistake with a calm finish, sending the ball underneath the on rushing Ward. Leicester City were having a bad day but mostly due to their bad defending.

Leicester then tried desperately to get at least a point from the fixture but Iheanacho couldn’t connect with Vardy at the near post. Neto was too quick claiming the ball before the Nigerian forward. The game ended 2 – 1 at the Vitality Stadium with the home side claiming all available points for the game.

Bournemouth move eight with the victory with 12 points while Leicester City remain 19th on the Premier League table after losing their fifth straight game this season.
