Oumar Kane made a spectacular return to action and also registered himself back in the win column with an explosive win over formerly undefeated Russian Batradz Gazzaev at ONE 161 on Thursday 29th of September at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The Senegalese Heavyweight spent over a year in the sidelines and was last seen in action back in April 2021, when he unbeaten record got smashed by Kirill Grishenko, who took the win by technical stoppage. Kane was initially scheduled to make a return earlier this year against Marcus Buchecha but that didn’t go through as planned because Kane pulled out.
Gazzaev kick started the fight with a takedown attempt but Kan was able to defend well, holding him up against the fence. Another try was made by Gazzaev, immediately after break up but yieldded the same result and Kane added a some big punches this time. Again another takedown by Gazzaev registered success but couldn’t make much of it as Kane made it back to his feet. Kane was warn for grabbing the fence and in the struggle Gazzaev went for a body-lock but could t bring Kane down.
Kane was warned again in the start of the second round for grabbing the fence. Both were then involved in a back and forth before Gazzaev shot for a takedown. Kane replied with big blows but Gazzaev still refused to let go of the legs. Kane went on to get a full mount on Gazzaev, got his back and finished him off with a ground and pound.
