The fight was five rounds of very tactical fighting and after that Pitbull emerged victorious with scores of 49-46, 48-47 and 48-47. The fight didn’t have an explosive start and McKee didn’t engage aggressively as in their first meeting. He mostly avoided giving up his height and reach, using his distance and circling away whenever Freire tried to engage.
McKee was however a little more aggressive in the second round and seemed a little impatient, which ended up opening him up for some good strikes from Pitbull, who picked him apart and dropped him with one of those shots. McKee tried to land a big one back and lunched in with the knee but that opened him up for a huge right hand that caught him in his tracks and forced him to regroup.
The third was the best for Pitbull as MC was offensive while he sat back and showed some of the countering skills he has mastered over the years. Pitbull connected a big right hand on McKee, stunned him and opened him, Freire went in for the guillotine choke but McKee was able to escape the danger.
McKee returned back to his game, out-landed Pitbull for most of the round. However, in the fifth, Pitbull started a good kicking game that produced some good strikes. However, McKee was still very active and even attempted a guillotine, which visibly robbed Pitbull of his speed. McKee finished the round with another takedown.
The fight ended with the Judges deeming Pitbull fit to return to the win column, his first victory since losing to McKee in the first round of their first meeting.
