Errol Spence Jr Vs Yordenis Ugas Three Belt Unification On April 16 On Fox Sports Pay-Per-View

IBF/WBC Welterweight World Champion Errol Spence Jr locks horn with his WBA counterpart Yordenis Ugas on April 16th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington TX.

Errol Spence Unifies IBF And WBC Welterweight titles

The information was let loose by the Unified Welterweight titlist on the early hours of Tuesday, through his Twitter and Instagram accounts.

The 31 Year Old Spence Jr has grown into a hometown favourite, most recently emerging victorious in high profile Pay-Per-View bouts with Mikey Garcia and Danny Garcia at the home stadium of his favourite Football team Cowboys Dallas.

The Cuban Born Yordenis Ugas shocked the world in his performance against the now retired eight division champion Manny Pacquiao. Retaining his WBA “Super” Welterweight World title with a loopsided Unanimous Decision over the 43 year old living boxing legend back in August 21, 2021.

However, Ugas will face a bigger test and will have much more to prove against the the Unbeaten Spence Jr., who is arguably one of the best fighters on the planet. Ugas will be defending his belt for the first time and looks to add the IBF/ WBC Welterweight World titles to his WBA Strap.

The Unification of the three belts was a  subject in the talks between the proposed bout between Spence Jr and Manny Pacquiao. The later tabled an appeal before the WBA to reinstate him as the WBA “Super” champion before the bout with Spence as his status “Champion in Recess” wouldn’t be recognisable and beneficial in his negotiation for the fight with Spence.

Spence Jr eventually pulled out due to an eye injury discovered after a pre fight medical check up. Ugas stepped in on eleven days notice, proved his status as a Champion by winning a loopsided Unanimous Decision.

Spence Jr has since undergone a surgery on the injured eye and cleared after full recovery. He has since resumed at the Derrick James Gym, where he prepares for his second bout since his life threatening accident back in October 2019. In between the period, Spence defeated Danny Garcia with a 12 round unanimous decision back in December 2020.
