Jake Collier, known for his knockout capabilities, decided to show he had something else in his arsenal, submitted Chase Sherman in the Co-Main event of UFC Vegas 46, which took place at the UFC Apex Facility. LA.

The two heavyweights went straight shorting heavy shots at one another with our a feeling out process after a couple of exchanges, Collier scored a takedown and ministered a ground and pound that got Sherman totally bloodied. He proceeded to ended the fight with a rear naked choke forcing Sherman to tap in the opening round.

Collier quickly turned his focus on former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski, reminding him of his war with Sherman and will like to run it with him.

“[Andrei] Arlovski and Sherman had a war and I just smoked him in the first round,” Collier said. “Why don’t you give me that old dog”

“If [Justin Tafa] can make weight, that would be cool. Let’s get it on, big man.”

Collier looked to end the fight within the distance and went straight at Sherman, who was then forced to use counter striking. Being calm was able to get Sherman some good openings and he landed some serious shots including a nasty uppercut.

Collier was clearly rattled by those shots and desperately trying to get an edge in the fight, he switched on Sherman, taking the fight to the canvas and Sherman never got back to his feets. Collier immediately started pounding on Sherman, landing punches and elbows that opened up a cut on Sherman’s face. Sherman tried to save himself from the pounding, rolled up but Collier only saw an opening for a submission and did just that.
