Michael Morales was able to retain his Unbeaten record with a stunning first round TKO victory over Trevin Giles in the main card opener of UFC 270 on Saturday night 22 of January at the Honda Centre In Anaheim California.
Morales was at the end of a huge punch in the opening seconds of the fight but recovered before dropping Giles with a huge combination of his own, while the first swam forward for another huge shot. Immediately, Giles back was on the canvas, Morales jumped on him with a flurry and continued pounding until the referee stepped in to stop the fight.
Giles, who was making his welterweight debut was the first to attack, landing a huge blow on Morales, who was also making his UFC debut. The newcomer was visible startled by the shot and despite taking it well, landed on the canvas and Giles jumped on him looking for a finish. However, Giles survived and got back to his feet, motioning to Giles to come forward.
Giles rushed forward with aggression lunching a barrage of attack on Morales, who in turn unleashed a huge shot of his own that landed flush on his chin and sent him to the canvas. Morales rushed in with a ground and pound and gave him no space to breath till the referee intervened, stopping the fight at exactly. 4.05 of the opening round.
“We’ve worked a lot. That’s what we got [with the knockout],” Morales said afterwards. “For all the trust and the work, thank you very much.”
The win leaves Morales (13-0) with his Unbeaten record and most importantly starts his UFC career with a TKO victory
