Artur Beterbiev defended his WBC and IBF Light Heavyweight titles with a ninth round knockout of Marcus Browne on Friday night at the Bell Center in Montreal Canada.

Beterbiev gradually broke down Browne, while fighting through a very harsh cut that was as a result of an accidental clash of heads with Brown in the fourth round. And by the time of the stoppage the cut was blessing seriously but that didn’t stop Beterbiev from finishing off brown to retain his titles and his 100% knockout record.

Browne defeated Badou Jack with a unanimous decision back in 2019, Jack had to fight through a serious cut and eventually lost. However in this case, Beterbiev was determined to win and showed from his activity his intent, rocking and snapping Browne’s head backwards in the ninth round.

With the victory, Beterbiev retained his status as the only reigning champion with a 100% knockout rate.
