Sean Bradley was able to retain his unbeaten record after battling a game Michael Chiesa. He emerged with a unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 198 ( UFC Vegas 43) with a 29-28 result on all three scorecards.
Bradley, who is seen as the next big name in the Welterweight division showed he could hold his own against, one of the best fighters in the UFC welterweight division and had to dig deep to get the victory against Chiesa. The bout served as the Co Main Event which streamed live on ESPN+.
The fight started out awfully as Bradly got eye poked twice within the first minute. However, both illegal eye pokes went unpunished. Bradley took the fight to the canvas after the restart and was able to control the fight for a considerable amount of time. Chiesa got back to his feet after sometime on the canvas but Bradley did well to win that round.
Chiesa displayed his striking accuracy and perfection with long range strikes that gave Bradley problems in the first half of the second round round. However, Bradly took them all then scored another takedown and got Chiesa’s back then went on to control the fight till the round ended.
The third round was a big one for Chiesa, who was able to hurt Bradley with a vicious combination, sent him back into survival mode. Bradley was able to overcome that surge and then scored another takedown, controlled the fight on the canvas. Chiesa was able to get back to his feet and stunned Bradley again before the end of the round.
Bradly got his fifth victory since joining the UFC back in 2019, retaining his overall Unbeaten record with 15-0, 5-0 in the UFC. Chiesa is now on a two fight losing skid, failing to bounce back from his first round submission loss to Vicente Luque at UFC 265.
