In front of sold out crowd at the Park Theatre in Las Vegas the 122 pound champions delivered a classic on Saturday night and after a 12 round battle with 1786 punches with consistent action, Fulton was emerged winner with a majority decision.

Fulton was shy of giving Figueroa his accolades and was all praises for the Mexican.

” It was a War” Fulton Said after the fight.”it was a tough fight, He is a tough person.”

Figueroa, a volume puncher as expected applied enormous pressure on the WBO champion from the first round till the final round and within that period 1086 punches was sent towards Fulton, with 314 punches connecting according to data from Compubox.

Fulton was able to take everything Figueroa threw at him and effectively absorbed all the pressure, landing shots of his own, when engaged in back and forth exchanges with the WBC Champion. Fulton connected counter punches, moved and held ones Figueroa looked to overwhelm him.

Fulton wasn’t as active as Figueroa but was more provide and accurate, throwing 726 punches, connecting 269 punches with 85 of them being Body as shots. This basically became the basis for the Judge as decision, who gave Fulton 116-112, 116-112 and a 114-114 draw.

“I was catching him in between the shots he was throwing,” said Fulton, whose interview was interrupted by Figueroa. “Yeah, he was making it a little sloppy and rough. And the ref was saying I was hitting him low. I wasn’t; I was placing my shots.”

Fulton was adamant that his shots were cleaner than Figueroa after been asked about the punching stats showing Figueroa was the more active fighter.

“More active, but who landed cleaner shots?” I caught you in the middle of everything you were throwing,” he responded as Figueroa’s team heckled him.

However, Figueroa feels bad about the scoring and believes he was robbed.

“I put the pressure the whole 12 rounds,” he said. “I landed the cleaner shots. I hurt him like five times. I probably lost four rounds in that fight.”

“Probably has to be the biggest robbery of the year. Everybody here knows who won. The fans that watched it live know who won. Even [Fulton] knows who won. They just don’t want to admit it. They just want to make the fight with him and [fellow titleholder Murodjon Akhmadaliev].

“I came to fight. Everyone knows I come to fight, I don’t come to hold. I brought pressure the whole 12 rounds. I think even you know who won.”

Fulton is open to give Figueroa a second chance at both titles but things might not go that way as Figueroa will have a hard time making 122 pounds. Figueroa has multiple times declared his intentions of moving up in weight whether win or lose.
