The Showtime Pay-Per-View event will take place on the 18th of December at the Amalie Arena in Tampa Florida, USA. Amanda Serano also confirmed the development

“December 18th I’m stepping up to 135 pounds and showing the world why I’m one of the best to ever do it,”

Serrano (41-1-1, 30KOs) has dominated the lower divisions and looks to take the game to another level as she takes steps towards an anticipated meeting with Katie Taylor, who is the Undisputed Champion in the Lightweight Division. There has been a lot of talk about a potential showdown between the two and Serano’s move up takes away the major constraint for the potential showdown.

Serano returns to the Lightweight division for the first time in seven years and she is coming off a unanimous decision win over Yamileth Mercado in August on Paul – Woodley fight card. The fight was the second defence of her WBC/WBO/IBO titles titles.

Serano will be featuring for the second time since her pact with the Most Valuable Promotions, which was the next move for her career after splitting with Legendary Promoter and Hall Of Fame Inductee Lou DiBella, who heads the DiBella Promotions.

The five division champion, Serano has won it all in Women’s Boxing and has held a title in five divisions ranging from Junior Bantamweight to Junior Welterweight division. She went up to Lightweight back in 2014 and knocked out Maria Maderna, becoming a two weight world champion at that time.

Serano will be hoping to land a fight with Taylor early next year, if she emerges victorious in this fight. Taylor will be fighting a week after this event as she looks to close the year out in a grand style.

“Miriam’s only loss in her career was a decision to Katie Taylor,” notes Serrano, who has 27 fights in a row since her lone defeat nearly ten years ago. “I’m ready!”
