WBC heavyweight champion looks to make the first defence of the WBC Heavyweight title he won with a seventh round knockout victory over Deontay Wilder back in February 22 2020. Wilder was able to successfully defend the title 11 times before losing it to Tyson Fury onnight.
This is the third time, the Gypsy King and the Bronze Bomber will be sharing the ring since their first meeting back in Dec. 2018. The two battled to a controversial Split Draw. Largely due to the fact that both fighters had their own reasons to declare themselves winners of that fight and due to Lapses in the officials it was advisable toale it a draw.
Fury outboxed Deontay Wilder over 12 rounds and should easily go he with a Unanimous decision but Deontay Wilder dropped him brutally in the ninth round and the twlevth round. The last knock down should have been declared a knockout but the officials have Fury so much time to recover and when he eventually did, was able to hold Wilder back throughout the remaining minutes of the fight.
It was ruled a split draw by the Judges.
Deontay Wilder has been so dependent on his right hand that he has forgotten how to Box, which was an attribute that won him the Bronze Medal in the Olympics in the first place. Since turning Pro, he has depended so much on his right hand and has forgotten most of his Boxing skills, leaving him frustrated as was the case in the rematch with Fury.
Fury came into the first fight on the back of a two year layoff and had balloned up during that period and had to lose a lot of fat to make to face Wilder. However, he was still able to OutBox Wilder. The second fight, Wilder as usual was the brash talker, always making his death threats but Fury came in fit this time, something Wilder Failed to notice.
Fury might have been slow in the first fight but was Slimer and fitter in the second, his movements were better and Wilder’s headhunting business had to crash in that economic meltdown. After the loss Wilder accused everybody including the Referee and the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
He accused Fury of putting something the sixmze if an egg-plant in his gloves and sacked his trainer Mark Breland, accusing him of conspiracy and then, brought in his former foe Malik Scott as the head trainer. So far during the training camp. It’s been fun watching Wilder in videos posted on Social media, where he has been a little too silent for his personality.
Wilder brings in a very quiet personality which people tend to equate with being focus and determined. Whatever the outcome, This fight is a must win for Wilder, if he wants to remain in the mix and again every one will like to witness his improvements against a fighter that can actually box.
Fury in the other hand, has been so outspoken ahead of the rematch and during their final Press Conference asked a few necessary questions, which Wilder evaded but there had been concerns about Fury, thrown all up on social media about his training camp. The seriousness isn’t there and they said he is been busted up by young fighters in the gym.
With all this. Kindly check back for full coverage of the fight .
