Two time Welterweight Champion when Porter believes he is at the brink of attaining an Hall Of Fame inevitability, should he emerge victorious in his WBO Welterweight World Championship fight against Terence Crawford on Nov 20th.
“I’m sure I’m on the brink of getting into the Hall of Fame,” said Porter. “For me, it’s not only win or go home. It’s win, or nothing else. My life right now it’s all about beating and dominating Crawford. My legacy will depend on beating Terence Crawford.”
Porter (31-3-1, 17 KOs) has been in the ring with every big name in the Welterweight division and has been competing on a high level for a very long time with key victories over the likes of Danny Garcia, Yordenis Ugas, Adrien Broner, Andre Berto, Paul Malignaggi, Devon Alexander and Adrian Granados. However, Porter has been on the losing side a few times but they have been close competitive decisions against former champions Errol Spence Jr., Keith Thurman and Kell Brook.
Terence Crawford is arguably one of the top pound for pound fighters in the planet and a win over Crawford, which indirectly makes him a three time welterweight champion will give him a strong position when considering induction into the Boxing Hall Of Fame.
“We can talk all about resumes, but when I look at his resume, nobody that has been in the ring with him, knows him as I know him,” said Porter. “The best of Terence Crawford will bring out the best of Shawn Porter. What I do know is November 20 is a big day for boxing and it will be a big day for Team Porter.
“He is a dominant fighter. Everyone he gets in the ring with, he dominates. I want to be the one fighter that he can’t dominate. Everything that is required to beat Terence, I got it. It’s time to take on this challenge.”
Terence Crawford Vs Shawn Porter will take place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on November 20th and will be Live on ESPN Pay-Per-View.
