Lightweight star Ryan Garcia looks to make a stunning comeback statement against Joseph Diaz when they collide before the end of the year.
Garcia has been away from the ring since his famous knockout victory over Luke Campbell in January. Garcia got of the floor to score a brutal Knockout win over England’s Campbell.
Garcia said he is ready to get back in the ring after spending time off to care for personal issues and also deal with his mental health. Garcia also believes he can end the fight with Diaz early as he figures his fellow stablemate doesn’t really have a good defence.
“He’s going to get knocked out,” Garcia said of Diaz to TMZ Sports. “He’s going to get caught with a shot sooner or later, and he doesn’t have really that good of a defense.”
Garcia has a big plan of facing Gervonta Davis in the future and hopes a sensational knockout victory over Diaz will catapult him into a fight with Mayweather Promotions star Davis, who most recently went up two divisions to knockout Mario Barrios at Junior Welterweight.
“I’ve been chasing that fight for so long. He’s always going to be there. I’m hunting him down,” Garcia said.
“I’ll make [Davis] rich [if he fights me]. And, then I’ll continue my great career.”
Davis is expected back in the squared circle before the end of the year but there isn’t a time or date or opponent for the showdown. Davis is yet to indicate which division, 140 or 135.
