Leo Santa Cruz – Crawford, Porter Fight Depends On Who Pushes It

Crawford Porter

Four Division champion Leo Santa Cruz believes that the WBO welterweight title fight between Terence Crawford and Shawn Porter won’t be a one sided battle when they collide on the 20th of November at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The unbeaten knockout artist from Omaha Nebraska, Crawford will be facing arguably his biggest and toughest opponent since moving up to welterweight. The fight with Porter was announced in late July but Top Rank and MBG Promotions who represents Porter failed to reach an agreement, forcing the organisation to order a purse bid.

The first day for the purse bid was set for September 2nd but pushed further to September 14th but both sides soon got their chemistry, got to an agreement before the the second date.

The welterweight division his booming with hot, top and young talents , presently housing the most competition in the boxing world. However, Fights of this calibre arw very hard to come by and with the IBF/WBC world champion Errol Spence Jr being out indefinitely due to his eye surgery, Crawford-Porter is presently the biggest and most anticipated fight in 2021.

Santa Cruz, who also fights under the PBC banner like Porter believes that the fight could go either ways depending on which fight exerts himself more.

“Porter is a fighter that comes to fight all the time. He puts on the pressure and is on top of you, breaking you down. I don’t know if Crawford has faced a fighter like that who will keep pushing and pushing you. It is going to be a great fight for Porter and Crawford. They are both one of the best. I think it will be a really close fight and whoever pushes it the most is going to take it,” Santa Cruz told Fighthype.com’s Rainbow Alexander.

Terence Crawford retained his WBO welterweight world title with a fourth round knockout victory over Former Champ Kell Brook. While Shawn Porter defeated Sabestian Formella back in 2020.
