Judges Lisa Giampa (98-91), John McKaie (97-92) and David Sutherland (98-91) all scored the fight in favour of Frank Sanchez, who was cautions throughout the fight and failed to entertain the crowd while taking away Ajagba’s right had throughout the twelve rounds.
Sanchez was able to open the fight with a right hand and later connected a jab towards the end of the round. Ajagba had issues connecting throughout the round. Sanchez was able to avoid a big right early in the second round, then countered Ajagba with a left towards the end of the second round.
The fight was mostly uneventful through six rounds, with the sixth being the most uneventful as Sanchez stayed away from Ajagba, throughout the round, igniting Boos from the crowd. Ajagba somehow landed a left which sent Sanchez to the canvas but that was ruled a slip by the referee.
Sanchez seemed to score a knocked down towards the start of the seventh round, sending Ajagba to one knee. Another left hook while Ajagba was down wasn’t counted by the referee.
The 10th round was the most eventful as both fighters connected, Ajagba connected a big right and received a left for Sanchez almost immediately. Sanchez didn’t engage much after then and left Ajagba scouting for a knockout to win the fight.
