Tyson Fury makes the first attempts the first defence of the WBC Heavyweight title in the third meeting against Deontay Wilder on Saturday Night Oct.9th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
There has been a lot of drama in the build up, a lot of talking, specifically from the Fury camp and Clips all over social media ahead of the event this coming weekend as the fighters prepare for the showdown, which looks set to be a conclusion of a saga that started back in 2018.
The then undefeated WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder battled Tyson Fury to a controversial draw in December 2018. An event that saw fury outbox Wilder throughout the twelve rounds of the fight but got caught with two heavy shots from the Bronze Bomber, the first in the 9th round and then again in the 12th round of the fight, with the latter being a near knockout victory. The fight was ruled a draw by the judges with claims that the two knockdowns leveled the fight up on the score cards.
Wilder after the fight, went against everyone with accusations including the referee , his trainer, Fury and everyone. He also said he wore a heavy costume for his entrance that weighed hard on his legs and made his legs week even before the fight began.
Wilder has since fired his trainer Breland and employed his former Foe Malik Scott ahead of his third meeting with Fury. However the date for the third meeting has gone through numerous postponements and reasons for this include the COVID 19 restrictions and most recently, a positive COVID 19 drug test result in the Fury Camp.
At some point during the COVID 19 period, Tyson Fury refused to give Deontay Wilder the third fight due to the rematch period on the contract had elapsed and went on with negotiations with former Unified heavyweight champion for an all British heavyweight undisputed fight but that never materialised as Wilder dragged Fury to the Court Of Arbitration and won the legal case which forced Fury back into preparation for the Wilder trilogy.
With all the information from both camps, this fight looks to be an action packed main event and the questions remain, will Tyson Fury hand out another one sided beating to Wilder or will the latter score a knockout victory and reclaim the WBC Heavyweight title.
