Young Boys 2 – 1 Man United – 10 Men Red Devils Stunned In Switzerland

Young Boys Celebrate Manchester United UEFA Champions League Win

Young Boys were outmatched by class and pedigree but not with chance and luck as they were able to stun Manchester United, edging them 2 – 1 in their UEFA Champions League Group F clash on Tuesday Night.

The “Red Devils” looked to replicate their English Premier League victory over Newcastle during the weekend with Cristiano Ronaldo kick-starting the show with a first half finish but things got sour for the visitors as Aaron Wan-Bissaka got sent off with a straight Red Card before the end of the first 45 minutes.

Ronaldo’s goal was his third in two games and was after a wonderful combination with his fellow countryman Bruno Fernandes. The shot was almost stopped by the Young Boys Keeper David von Ballmoos but the power was much sending the shot right past him.

A decision that will eventually lea see to their downfall.

Young Boys kept the pressure coming as Manchester United couldn’t find their way out and missed a lot of chances but eventually, Meschak Elia’s cross found his way past Varane to Nicolas Ngamaleu, who poled in from close range to level the game.

Manchester United struggled but Young Boys kept the pressure coming, eventually getting lucky as a Jesse Lingard erroneous back pass gifted Siebatcheu an opportunity to land in a one – one situation with David De’Gea, a perfect finish in the final minutes of the game saw the host take all three points from the clash.

Manchester United were down to 10 Men, and had a few miss calls from the referee but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was basically at fault for his substitutions and just like in the Europa League Final, the Manager failed to control the game, making the players sit deep and invite pressure when they have the players to cause Young Boys trouble.

Manchester United could still make it out of the group as it is just the first game with fifteen points still up for grabs but this Managerial mistakes need to corrected to put United back in a position of winning anything this season.
