Vendramini had promised to introduced Pimblett to the “World Cup” , which by that, he planned sending the Brit back home with a loss. However Pimblett was able to take his punches and did well to carefully escape his charge before landing the brutal shot.
“What did I tell you?” Pimblett said when speaking to Michael Bisping after the fight. “I’m a scouser. We don’t get knocked out. I’m here to takeover. I’m the new cash cow. I’m the new man. People are going to be calling me out now.”
Pimblett came up with confidence, which was evident in his entrance and kept his chin high but got stunned by big left hooks from Vendramini. Despite stay up, it was visibly clear Vendramini had made his point clear. Vendramini kept charging forward and tried connecting that same punch that continued landing on his chin.
Pimblett was throwing too but Vendramini was a little wild with his shots and with both sending out heavy shots, Vendramini was careful and Pimblett made him pay. Pimblett connected a big right that got Vendramini on shaky legs then followed up with a barrage of Punches that sent the Brazilian to the canvas.
Pimblett has been vocal about his stand in the UFC “The New Cash Cow” and has welcomed all the attention, which he sure lived up to with that first round knockout. Pimblett will look to build on that result as he walks toward becoming a superstar in the UFC roster.
