Merab Dvalishvili pulled off a stunning comeback victory over Marlon Moraes in the Preliminary Card of UFC 266 which took place on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas.
Dvalishvili (14-4 MMA, 7-2 UFC) survived a near finish, bounced back and scored a TKO finish of Moraes (23-9-1 MMA, 5-5 UFC) at exactly 4:25 of round 2. The Fight Ended the ESPNews broadcast ahead of the Main Event which Airs on Pay-Per-View.
Dvalishvili was count with a big left hook from Moraes in the opening round and the latter followed up with numerous shots after noticing and left him stumbling a over the cage, Dvalishvili was hurt but Dvalishvo ducked and scored a takedown, grounded and pound toll the round ended.
Dvalishvili came out guns blazing in the second round and scored a takedown early, he then took full mount and unloaded strikes on Moraes, who gradually couldn’t defend himself till the referee saw enough and ended the fight.
The win represents Dvalishvili’s seventh consecutive win and three years without a loss. His last loss came in 2018. A submission loss to Ricky Simon. However, for Marlon Morae, he is on a three fight losing skid and has lost 4 out of his last five outings. His last win came back in 2019, a controversial loss to Former champion Jose Aldo.
