UFC 266 Results – Curtis Blaydes Earns Boring Decision Over Jairzinho Rozenstruik
Heavyweight Contender Curtis Blaydes was able to secure a rather less impressive victory over Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the Main Card Of UFC 266 fight card on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada. The Card was broadcasted live on Pay-Per-View, following Prelims on ESPNews and ESPN+.
Blaydes (15-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) picked up a unanimous decision over Rozenstruik (12-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) with all Judges scoring the fight 30 – 27 for Blaydes.
The start of the first round was rather uneventful for the calibre of fighters and the what was really at stake. There was no push to connect or welcome action till Blaydes scored a takedown, 90 second into the fight. The fight remained on the canvas with Blaydes controlling the proceedings, while Rozenstruik did his best to stay away from trouble.
Towards the end of the of the round, Rozenstruik found his way back to his feet and things remained uneventful toll the horn.
The second round was more of the same as Rozenstruik did his best to keep the fight on his feet connected a few big right hands and a flying knee, which was the biggest shot if the round. He was able to get Blaydes attention with that. However Blaydes secured another take down and secured half guard but didn’t do much with the position but controlled the fight to the horn was heard.
Blades scored another take down in the final round and kept Rozenstruik there, controlled the fight on the mat till the end of the round.
Blaydes came into the fight on the back of a KO loss to Derick Lewis back in February and that snapped his string of four consecutive victories. He called out a few people in the post fight interview and also admitted playing save following his victory.
