Last season Finalist Manchester City are on another level abd showed it against a very tough RB Leipzig, raining goals in their 6-3 victory over the German Side in their UEFA Champions League Group A fixture.
Leipzig were very quick to lunch and attack which wasn’t surprising as they are always knows for their direct approach. The Citizens gradually grew into the game leaving their visitors a little to free with the ball in the opening minutes.
Another offside in the 10th minute was a clear sign of RB Leipzig’s intent with Silva leading their attacks Zinchenko was given a rude awakening with a Yellow for his rather mild attack on Olmo in the fifteenth minute but the Ethiad Stadium got lightened two minutes time when Nathan Ike put the Citizens ahead with his Debut Goal in European competitions. A good assist from Jack Grealish too who sent in a wonderful cross to an unmarked Ike, who fires in a powerful header.
City took control after the goal and had their visitors cornered to their own half with attempts flooding in consistently. Mahrez, Grealish and De’Bruyne went incredibly close before Nordi Mukiele was forced to score an awkward goal giving the Citizens a two goal advantage.
Leipzig had their first goal ruled out 5 minutes later after Silva poles in a rebound with his first attempt forcing a great save from Ederson. Christopher Nkunku however, reduced the defust three minutes before halftime, heading in a Forsberg’s cross three minutes to halftime.
Leipzig however, got unfortunate as their two goal lead was placed back up with Mahrez showing class from the penalty spot. This was after De’Bruyne’s cross was headed by Torres and deflected off a defenders arm at the stroke of half time.

Leipzig looked to get back on track with their comeback at the beginning of the the Second Half and with just six minutes made their mark with Christopher Nkunku header. De’Bruyne lost the ball while tripping over the referee, this then leaves Olmo to run into space and a through pass was enough for Nkunku, who ran in between two defenders to head in the ball.
Grealish them scored his Champions league debut goal and displayed his class in the Process. He picked the ball up from the left side of the pitch, drifted in, created space then curled in an awesome shot to the top corner.
Christopher Nkunku scored his third goal in the but two more goals from Cancelo and Jesus with the fact that they got reduced to 10 Men made it impossible for Leipzig to return back into the game.
Pep Guardiola took charge if his 300th game in charge of the club and the 6 – 3 victory over Leipzig will be memorable in minds of Fans, Players and the coach.
