Liverpool FC were able to grind out a 3 – 2 victory over a tough AC Milan at Anfield on Wednesday evening taking all three points to earn a perfect start to their 2021/22 UEFA Champions League In Group B.
Jurgen Klopp and his “Reds” staged a great performance coming from behind to secure a victory, taking all points available for the opening fixture in a group that also includes Portuguese Giants FC Porto and Spanish Leagues contenders Atletico Madrid.
Liverpool didn’t read the scripts ahead of the game, starting their attacks right from kick off and by the 10th minute, the host had made four attempts with the last of the four breaking the deadlock. Trent Alexander-Arnold charged forward them played a 1 – 2 with Salah, going clear on goal before his deflected low shot slid into the net.
Liverpool had a very strong start, earning a penalty three minutes after the first goal but unfortunately, Mike Maignan saves Mohammed Salah shot from the spot, quickly up again to save Diogo Jota’s rebound to maintain the 1 – 0 deficit.
By the 16th minute Liverpool had made 13 attempts while their visitors were yet to disturb Allison. The huge pressure by Liverpool kept Millan players in their half.

The Second Half was much different as the the Reds were able to overturn the one goal deficit and score a winner, taking all three points from the fateful encounter. denied by the keeper in the First Half , Mo’ Salah was able to make amends for his penalty miss with a tipping goal, sending the ball into the net after racing on Origi’s pass.
Captain Henderson finally made his mark with a first time half Holly sending the shot straight into the top corner to give the Reds a befitting lead in the 68th minute.
The goal sparked a series of changes on both sides, Keita went off for Thiago and Diogo Jota off for Curtis Jones, who later came close to adding a one more goal in the 76th minute. More changes were made after then and Liverpool had to dig deep to retain their one goal lead.
