UEFA Champions Chelsea will welcome Aston Villa to Stanford Bridge after the International break on Premier League Match Day 4 with the maximum three points at stake.
The Blues under Thomas Tuchel has been a formidable side since late last season and displayed their class in the 1 – 1 draw against Liverpool in their last outing. Chelsea had to endured a tedious day in the office, holding the Reds to save a point in their last outing.
UEFA Super Cup and Champions League winners were able to pick up two victories in the first two games of the season. They introduces Crystal Palace to the season with a 3 – 0 trashing at Stanford Bridge, motivated by Romelu Lukaku’s second debut trashed local rivals Arsenal 2 – 0 at the Emirates Stadium.
Chelsea had a great game against Liverpool and were the first to find the net, thanks to Kai Havert’s 22nd minute goal but things changed after Reese James was sent off with a straight red in First Half added time. Liverpool eventually leveled with a penalty. Further efforts to take the lead from the Reds were unfruitful as they both settled for a draw.
Aston Villa have had a pretty average season so far picking four out of the available nine points from the first three games of the season. However, they were introduced to the 2021/22 season with a 3 – 2 loss in the hands of Watford, who did well to halt their comeback attempt to take all three points from that game.
Aston Villa bounced back with a 2 – 0 victory over Newcastle United at Villa Park on Match Day 2, then had to come from behind against Brentford, with Buendia equalising Ivan Toney’s goal in the 13th minute to ensure a point was saved in 5heir last outing.
Odds And Predictions
Chelsea FC clearly are the favourites here given the high level they have been playing and that is also supported by the Bookmarkers with 1.28 points to emerge victorious. This means a stake of $100 will earn an investor a $28 profit. However, if you fancy an upset. Aston Villa are listed with 11 points and a $100 stake will earn you $1100 after 90 minutes of football.
Anyways that’s highly unlikely, so my Prediction.
Prediction – Chelsea FC 3 – 0 Aston Villa
