Ben Parrish mad a triumphant return to the Octagon and a very quick one , knocking out Christian Edwards in the first round of Main Card Opener of Bellator 266 event, which took place at the SAP Centre, San Jose California.

Parrish, who has been out for more than two years due to a broken leg wasted no te in dropping the heavily favoured Edwards with a perfectly timed left cross that sent Edwards spiralling to the canvas a quick follow up with huge punches forced the referee to intervene and stop the fight.

Parrish was totally written off in the build up to the fights and was placed +700 underdog by most betting lines against Edwards who was undefeated and  had won his first four fights under the banner.

Parrish, who needed just 38 Seconds to announce his return to the Octagon wasted no time in Celebrating his win on his Twitter handle.  Sitting the fact that he was totally written off by the Bookmarkers ahead if the fight.

Fight Background

Christian Edwards and Ben Parrish will finally get a third chance to fight this weekend in the Main Card of Bellator 266 on September 18th at the SAP Center, San Jose CA USA.

This match up had been scheduled twice in the past, first for Bellator 259 but Christian Edwards was deemed medically unfit for the event. Then, the promotion rescheduled the bout for Bellator 261 but that too was called off as Parrish pulled out, however Simon Biyoung stepped in and got defeated with a unanimous decision.

Christian Edwards has risen so fast in the Bellator rankings with three finishes in his five appearances for the promotion. He is ranked 8th in the Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight rankings.

Ben Parrish will be making his promotional debut and having had to undergo bout cancellation against Edwards. Parrish is 4 -1 as a professional and his last appearance was back in 2019 which ended a loss after a leg injury. he has won all his fights via submission.

Parrish will be looking to make a statement with this opportunity but will also give Edwards and opportunity to re-establish himself a contender in the Bellator Light Heavyweight Divisions.
