Bellator returns this weekend with a the anticipated middleweight match up between Yoel Romero and Phil Davis which headlines Bellator 266 which takes place at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. live in Showtime following Prelims on MMA Junkie.
Romero will be making his UFC Debut and will be fighting for the first time since losing a unanimous decision to UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya back on 7th March 2020.
Both are strikers but with different styles to their game. Romero relies a lot on his counter striking, while Davis keeps his distance and looks to connect from distance keeping himself out of the range and this could possibly work as he goes into this fight with height reach and age advantage.
Romero has an explosive style but has always had issues with fighters like Davis, evidently in his last fight in the UFC, when Adesanya utilise distance and frustrated Romero before his departure from the promotion.
