UFC Vegas 35 Results – Gerald Meerschaert Stuns Makhmod Muradov, RNC Stoppage In Round 2
Gerald Meerschaert stunned the MMA world with a big comeback victory that also handed Makhmod Muradov his first UFC loss in UFC On ESPN 30 Main Card Opener on Saturday night at the UFC Apex Facility, Nevada.
The UFC Middleweight Veteran Meerschaert (33-14 MMA, 8-6 UFC) was able to use his ground game effectively against a game Muradov (25-7 MMA, 3-1 UFC), forcing him to tap out to a rare naked choke in the second round. The stoppage came in at exactly 1:49 of the second round.

Meerschaert rushed in on Muradov and was caught with a counter in the opening round and that hurt and wobbled him. Meerschaert was almost getting stopped in the fight but did his best to survive the heat from Muradov, who looked to finish the fight.
Meerschaert showed signs of recovery towards the end of the first round and was able to score a take down. He was a blento land a few significant strikes of his own before the horn was heard.
Meerschaert was able to turn the fight momentum to his advantage and was able to add pressure to Muradov, forcing him to the cage and landing a few strikes before taking the fight to the canvas, where he quickly finished the fight with a rare naked choke.
The win leaves Meerschaert a two fight winning streak, doubling on his win over Bartosz Fabinski back in April. In his last five outings, he has accumulated a 3 -2 record with the win.
Muradov lost for the first time in 5 years, snaps a 14 fight winning streak and also his first loss since signing up with the promotion.
