Aldo will be making his 18th appearance under the UFC banner and having already faced the beat of the best, seen his worst days in the division. It is a surprised the Infamous”King Of Rio” is still out there slugging it out with the new generation of fighters.
Aldo has only three defeats as a featherweight and it came from champions or former champions, a list comprising of Conor McGregor, Max Holloway and current champion Alexander Volkanovski.
Aldo is gradually moving towards the end of his career and that has led to many writing him of especially after his move to Bantamweight saw him lose a split decision to Marlon Moraes and even after being awarded a vacant title fight against Petr Yan failed to impress and eventually lost the fight via fifth round KO.
Munhoz impressed in his victories over Bryan Caraway and Cody Garbrandt but after then, has gone on to lose two fights in a row. First a unanimous decision loss to current champion current champion Aljamain Sterling, then a split decision loss to Frankie Edgar.
Aldo and Munhoz both have a good ground game thanks to their Black belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. However, they both have some good kicking game which definitely ignites the anticipation for an explosive fight. Aldo has a few advantages that should take away the age effect and thus includes speed, techniques, experience and defence. He still has his striking on as the only fighter to oustrike him remains Petr Yan.
Munhoz should be able to get the win, if he is able to constantly attack Aldo to even stand a chance of winning as the Veteran remains a monster even in the third round . Munhoz will have to land a big shot that wi rock and open up the older opponent and wear him down to grind a decision in the third round.
