Yadong Song will be looking to bounce back from his first loss in 10 fights when he takes on Casey Kenny in the main card opener of UFC 265 this Saturday.
Song has been shuffling between Featherweight and Bantamweight sice joining the promotion and was able to win his first four fights before battling Cody Stamann to a draw. Song earned a controversial unanimous decision victory over Marlon Vera then went back down to bantamweight where he lost to Kyler Philips and will look to regain his winning feets when he takes on Kenny at 265.
Kenny will also be hoping to bounce back from a defeat when he takes on song. Kenny had lost just ones in his previous 10 fights and that came in the hands of a new boogeyman in the division Merab Dvalishvili. He defeated Louis Smolka via submission, won two unanimous decision against Heili Alateng and Nathaniel Wood before losing a split decision to Dominick Cruz.
Both fighters are well rounded in the ring and have a decent bit of everything. However, Song is better as a striker while, Kenny has quick feets and could unleash kicks at any given time. Song would most likely prevail if the fight remains on feet but Kenny has a habit of constantly mixing up thing with his takedowns which could eventually detect the direction of the fight.
The fight will most likely end a decision and any of the two could emerge victorious but Song seems more likely to win. Possibly with a Split Decision.
