UFC Welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal falls among the first professional fighters to drop their prediction ahead of the anticipated meeting between Youtube sensation Jake Paul and former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley which takes place this coming weekend on August 29th at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.
Woodley was regarded as one of the biggest punchers in the UFC during his prime days and was listed among Pound-4-Pound fighters in his prime. However, Woodley will be swimming in strange waters as He has never boxed before, despite being known as one of the best punchers in the UFC. This doesn’t stop the obvious from happening according to “GameBred”, who believes Paul will be in for a rude awakening.
“So if Jake wins, f—— wow. My hat’s off to him, I was wrong. I don’t know sh!t about fighting, right? But, chances are Woodley is gonna knock him the f— out,” Masvidal told the MMA Hour.
Paul has been victorious in his three outings as a professional, scoring three knockout victories in those three outings, despite having no amateur or Boxing background. So far, Paul has defeated YouTuber AnEson Gib, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson and most recently MMA veteran Ben Askren.
Many Bookmarkers have Woodley as a favourite to win the fight because of his record in MMA and considering the fact that he has Faced/Practiced a considerable level of Boxing, which in MMA is termed “Striking”.
Woodley feels confident, he would emerge victorious on fight night and believes the fight will be one of the easiest fights in Boxing History.
“Easiest fight of my career & biggest purse of my career all in one night. Basically, they brought me in to take out the trash. Can’t wait to shut this bitch up. This is getting done for the culture, the whole MMA/boxing community, to rid this guy of combat sports,” Woodley said.
Tyron Woodley Vs Jake Paul will serve as a Showtime Main Event and will feature the likes of WBC/WBO Women’s World Featherweight Champion Amanda Serrano, Ivan Branchyk and Daniel Dubois.
