Manchester City compounded Mikel Arteta’s Woes with a 5-0 trashing of Arsenal in Match Day 3 at the Etihad stadium, Further grounding them to the bottom of the Premier League table.

Arsenal fell to their third consecutive Premier League defeat this season and have failed to score in each of the three games since the start of the 2021/22 Premier League season. Despite how bad their early display, things got worst as Granit Xhaka got his fourth Premier League Red Card to end all possibilities of a comeback.

The game started out with an enthusiastic Arsenal side who mustered an early attempt in the fifth minute but it was “The Citizens” that found the net two minutes later. Gabriel Jesus and Silva had a quick one two at the edge of the Arsenal Box and Jesus was given too much space to raise a cross to Gundogan at the far end to head.

The game still had hope for Arsenal but City had taken over the game and were continuously batching at the Arsenal Defence. City finally doubled their lead 5 minutes after the first goal. Arsenal were able to put up some serious defending but one of their challenges resulted in a free kick. Silva took it and it bounced of Soares to am unmarked Torres tapped in from close range.

Xhaka was given a straight red in the 35th minute, reducing the Gunners to ten men with over 50 minutes remaining in a match that had gone from hopeful to hopeless for the Gunners. Xhaka went in with two legs in a tackle against Cancelo and even the VAR review afterwards couldn’t change the decision.

City tripped their lead before halftime leaving their visitors completely hopeless. Torres was at the fore front of a city counter, picked out Grealish on the flank and the winger beats Chambers and makes his way into the Arsenal Box, then sends a low ball towards Jesus, who makes no mistake from Close range.

City just continued their dominance after the break and 8 minutes was enough for them to add another goal to the their tally. After a dominant and patient build up around the Arsenal box, Torres sets Rodri up and he back heels the ba past Leno to make the game 4 – 0.

Arsenal got completely locked into their own half and were given the huge responsibility of defending the balls City kept sending towards their Defence. However, they weren’t good at it and City found the net again increasing their tally to five.

Torres was able to net his second for the game after Mahrez sent him a neat header from the edge of the penalty box, Torres did well with a tromping header past a helpless Leno to further finish their hopes.

Arsenal finished their third game without a win and a goal.
