Liverpool came close again in the with a wide ball from Alexander-Arnold before Chelsea was able to get the first shot towards goal by Lukaku in the 13th minute but that was only a glimpse of Chelsea’s package as the visitors found the net from a set-piece in the 21st minute. Kai Haverts was able to rise above everyone to head beyond the Allison’s reach to put “The Blues” ahead in a very tactical and high paced game.

Chelsea immediately found themselves under sudden pressure from their Hosts as they seeked for a quick reply but failed as Azpilicueta was there to save the show by pushing out for a corner. However, after holding Liverpool till the added time for the First Half, Disaster Struck. A Robertson corner ignites a struggle at the Chelsea penalty box and Mane send the ball towards goal, Matip was there to head the ball to keep it alive and as Chelsea players converge at the post, Mane flick the ball and Reece James stops the ball.

The game continued and almost ended for the first half break, only for the VAR team to call for a review. The video was reviewed repeated and after that a red card was issued James and a penalty given to Liverpool. Mohamed Salah hardly makes a mistake from the penalty spot and this wasn’t an exception as the Egyptian sent Mendy flying the opposite direction to level the game before the break.

Chelsea had mostly looked comfortable in the first half but that all ended in the start of the second half as The Red were all over The Blues  and Thomas Tuchel’s men tried their best to hang on. Liverpool kept piling up the pressure in the Chelsea Half  but found way to take the lead as their breakthrough into the defense was constantly met by a good and very efficient Mendy, who was always there to palm away the balls whenever the Chelsea defense fail to clear their lines.

The game ended 1 – 1 after 90 minutes and each team had to settle for a point which leaves them second and third on the Premier League Table.
