Four Division champion Canelo Alvarez and IBF Super middleweight champ Celeb Plant have their Unification fight back on track with the anticipated Undisputed Showdown set to go down on Nov 6th.
The two were initially in talks for a showdown on Mexican Independence Day in September but due to their inability to reach a deal in time, Canelo announced the shift in date for his return. However, they have reached a deal and the fight is now Official as announced by both parties through their social media account.
The Mexican pound for pound fighter and Boxing’s biggest name Alvarez has gradually taken out the top names in the Super middleweight division. First Alvarez cruised to was wide unanimous decision victory over Callum Smith winning the WBA and WBC 168 Pound title, then Canelo went on to defend it with a knockout of Anvi Yildirim two months latter. Alvarez then knocked out Formerly unbeaten Billy Joe Saunders in the eight round to unify the WBO 168 pound world title.
Caleb Plant will be making his Pay-Per-View debut and will be looking to make the fourth defence of the title, when he squared off with Alvarez. Plant most recently, defeated Caleb Traux in his most recent outing back in back in January.
Canelo Alvarez will be returning to Las Vegas for the first time since knocking out Former long reigning light heavyweight WBO world champion Sergey Kovalev in the eleventh round of his light heavyweight debut back in November 2019.
Alvarez has been able to Win three of the World titles and that he did in the span of five months and if successful against Celeb Plant, will successfully unify the 168 pound division in the space of a year.
Alvarez, who has previously held a world title at Junior middleweight, Middleweight and Light Heavyweight became a four division champion with his wide unanimous decision victory over Callum Smith and a victory on November 6th will leave him the undisputed champion of the division in the space of a year.
