Brighton 0 – 2 Everton – The Blues Win Away To End Seagulls Perfect Start

Demarai Gray Everton Scores Brighton

Everton picked up a well deserved three points from their visit to Brighton, with a 2 – 0 win at the American express stadium on Match Day 3, lifting the Merseyside blues up into the second spot, though temporarily as things could change when the weekend results are completed.

Brighton have been victorious in their first two games and showed competitiveness against visitors Everton in the opening minutes of the game but despite their determination to stage a resistance against their tactically superior visitors, who later found their game towards the end of the first 30 minutes.

Everton from then on kept bombarding the Seagull’s defense with attempts till they found the target, Gray has proven to be a key player for Everton and after a victorious duel with Webster, Gray shifted the ball to the left and sent a low shot past Sanchez into the net to ignite the Everton Fans.

Brighton had more of the ball but Everton were clever throughout the first half, looked more dangerous with the ball ones they get possession and despite Brighton’s second half substitutions and their motive to fully match Everton up Defense Vs  Attack, they realized late, the day wasn’t theirs’s as Veltman connected a clumsy tackle on Seamus Coleman in the Penalty box.

The game had slipped out of the Seagulls grip as Calvert-Lewin was composed enough to double the lead with a low shot to the right of Sanchez, sending Sanchez the other way.

The Seagulls picked up two victories in the first two games of the season, first they picked up an away 2 – 1 victory over Burnley in the first game then went on to beat Watford 2Nil in their first home game. This setback leaves the Seagulls sixth position.

Everton started the season with an impressive 3 – 1 victory over a tough Southampton as side in their first game of the season but had to settle for a point in their game against Leeds United at Elland Road on Match Day 2. The win takes them as high as the second Spot with seven points from their first three games.
