Arsenal FC pick up all three points with a 4 – 0 trashing over West Brom in their visit to the Hawthorns on Saturday night, 2nd of January 2021.
Alexandre Lacazette scored twice in the encounte, adding another good performance to compliment two early goals from Saka and Tierney in the first half to make it three consecutive victories for Mikel Arteta’s side, who move up to the 11th spot on the Premier League table.
West Brom succumbed to another 4Nil consecutive loss. Becoming the first side to lose consecutively, conceeding four or five goals since Wigan in 2010.
The Gunners were so dominant from kickoff that it wasn’t a surprise when they took the lead in the 23rd minute. Tierney was able beat Furlong, beating him totally before breaking into the box and finishing off perfectly to put the visitors ahead.
Arsenal made it two before the half hour mark after a superb teamwork performance from the youngsters. Saka, who was involved earlier in the build up was able to make himself available again for a close range finish in the 26tb minute. Mikel Arteta’s men found their rythm and were playing with a pattern much similar to that of FC Barcelona.
West Brom showed some improvement towards the end of the first 45 minutes but were only able to muster an attempt during the period.
West Brom accepted their faith in the first half but looked to pull back he goals early on the second half. Their first attempt narrowly missed the target, while the second attempt was flagged an offside. They came close again in the 555th minute but it was Arsenal who eventually found the target.
Ajayi carried out some horrible defending which gave Arsenal some opportunity to capitalise. Aubameyang was able to send Lacazette into space and the Frenchman finds Saka, who plays the ball directly towards Ajayi but the defender fumbled allowing the ball to spill towards Lacazette, who curled the ball into the net to make the score line 3nil.
Arsenal further made the road, one of no return for the Baggies with another goal from Lacazette, four minutes after the hour mark with a close range finish. Aubameyang kickstarted the run with a drive through the midfield, picks out Tierney down the flank, who inturn fires a cross into the Baggies defense towards the unmarked Lacazette. The Frenchman finished the ball to make it five out of his last four appearances.
