UFC On ABC 1 Results – Max Holloway Batters Calvin Kattar, Wins Dominant Decision

Former featherweight champion Max Holloway cruised through Calvin Kattar in the main event of UFC On ABC 1, which took place on Saturday Night at the Ethiad Arena in Abu Dhabi UAE.
Holloway introduces Kattar to his masterclass and showed him what it takes to compete at the championship level. Making his intent known in the opening round, The Hawaiian standout attacked Kattar with a combos, which were made up three to four Punches , mixing it up between the head and body. He used his movement to keep Kattar guessing.
Kattar was placed on the run in the second round as Holloway added more power to his punches. Kattar had no answer to what the former champion was bringing and showed absolute guts in staying in there till the horn was heard. All he did was cover up during the hammering from Holloway.
Kattar was able to remind Holloway of his power in the third, firing that big right hand more than ones and clubbed Holloway a couple of time to gain his attention but the former champion was able to dominate the fight still and finished strong with a stylishly making Kattar blow the thin Air.
The fourth round will best be known for the amount of damage Kattar was able to absorb and still stay on his feets. Holloway attacked Kattar with flurries consecutively, constantly leaving him wobbled but somehow Kattar was able to remain on his feets. Kattar will sometime answers with punches and elbows but didn’t really bother Holloway. Kattar withstood three kicks in the closing minutes if the fight.
Other fights should have been waved off after the damage incurred by Kattar in the fourth round but somehow the referee Herb Dean and Kattar’s corner deemed fit for the fight to continue and Kattar was ones again subjected to another one sided beating in in the final round . Holloway closed his spectacular performance without being seriously threatened.
After the fight, Holloway volunteered to step in as a short notice opponent for the UFC 257 headliner, Dustin Poirier Vs Conor McGregor rematch which takes place on the 24th of January.
“All I gotta say is (there’s) a big, big fight next week, Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor. And guess what? Your boy is staying all into the week,” Holloway said. “If anything happens, somebody drops off, Dana knows my number. He can hit me up.”
