Spurs 3 – 0 Leeds United – Son Nets 100th Goal As Spurs Go Third

Tottenham Hotspur trashed Leeds United 3 – 0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to move third on the Premier League table, courtesy of goals from Harry Kane, Heung Ming Son and Toby Anderweireld in the in 29th, 43rd and 50th minutes respectively.
Leeds, however started the game with a high tempo, fired up by their 5Nil victory over West Brom in the midweek but were on able to break through the disciplined Spurs defense which is a glaring characteristic of Jose Mourinho’s team. However they grew well into the game and detected the flow but weren’t as dangerous as expected in the final third.
Tottenham showed superiority interns of experience as they were much more dangerous when in possession than their visitors. Harry Kane threw away a very great chance put Spurs ahead with a horrible shot over the Bar I. The 17th minute and forced another save from Meslier in the 21st minute.
Harry Kane finally had Spurs ahead a minute before the hour mark from the penalty spot after Bergwijn was able to beat Alioski at the edge of the penalty area but was pressured on by the defender and eventually won a foul inside the penalty box. Kane sent the ball straight down the middle with Meslier diving to the right. Spurs almost made it two but Kane’s shot just went wide.
Son doubled the lead for Spurs in the 43rd minute after his combination with Harry Kane made a click. Kane raced with the ball down the flank, made his way past Philips before sending in a low cross for Son to score from close range. Son scored his 100% goal for Spurs before the half time break.
The game was finally over in the 50th minute after Toby Anderweireld headed Davis corner, however with the keeper unbalanced, couldn’t keep the ball out before Harry Kane pushed the ball into the net to be sure. The referee gave the goal to Anderweireld as it was over the line before Kane’s intervention.
The combination of Son and Kane were awesome today and Leeds struggled to cope with the attacks from the two. Son’s goal was the 13th time both have combined to find the net. The win takes them back into the premier League title contention.
Leeds will remain 11th on the table with 23 points after the loss.
