Ryan Garcia and 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist Luke Campbell went through a lot during the Holiday season and had to sacrifice spending time with their families during the period in preparation of their WBC Interim lightweight title fight, which takes place tomorrow at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Garcia and Campbell both made weight for their championship fight with both ready to kick-start the 2021 Boxing Calender after a lengthy stay away from the ring. Though this is largely due to the Corona Virus pandemic that ravaged 2020 and forced the cancellation of many boxing events.
The 22 year old Garcia (20-0, 17KOs), will be making his sixth appearance as a lightweight and has been forced to put his body through rigorous training to go force his 5″10′ Frame down to the lightweight limit. Campbell however, will be entering his third title fight in the division after falling short in his first two tries.
The 33 year old Campbell will be making his fourth appearance in the US and will be entering the ring for the first time since his unanimous decision loss to Vasily Lomachenko 16 months ago. He was able to tip the scales at 135 pounds without hassles for the title fight.
Ryan Garcia was last seen knocking out Francisco Fonseca back on February 14th and his huge following and status has had a great impact on the coming event with the tickets getting sold out by midweek.
