Former Tottenham Hotspur Boss Mauricio Pochettino has been appointed the head coach of French Giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and has penned downs a contract that keeps him bound to the club till 2022 with an option of an extra year.
Thomas Tuchel was dismissed by the Club in December four months after taking the French Giants to the Champions League Final. PSG immediately got in contact with Pochettino and were already in advance talks before the year ran out.
Pochettino will be taking his first Job since being dismissed by Tottenham Hotspur. The former Espanyol Boss will be taking charge of his first training this coming Sunday, when the players make their return from the winter break.
“I am really happy and honoured to become the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain,” said Pochettino, who played for PSG from 2001 to 2003. “I would like to thank the club’s management for the trust they have placed in me.
“As you know, this club has always held a special place in my heart. I have wonderful memories, especially of the unique atmosphere of the Parc des Princes. I return to the club today with a lot of ambition and humility, and am eager to work with some of the world’s most talented players.
“This team has fantastic potential and my staff and I will do everything we can to get the best for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions. We will also do our utmost to give our team the combative and attacking playing identity that Parisian fans have always loved.”
The Club finished off their 2020 Calender with a 4 -0 win over Strasbourg but an interview during the build up sparked an uproar on social media and eventually lead to the dismissal of the Tuchel.
Before then there was a public fallout between Tuchel and the Board of Directors at the club over losing players to other clubs on free transfer which eventually led to both parties replying themselves inedia interviews.
