Manchester United has completed the signing of Amad Diallo from Atlanta on a four and a half year deal. The Club had already agreed terms for the transfer during the last transfer window but things got hindered by an English Work Permit.
The 18 year old Ivorian will have a one year extension option at the end of his contract, which runs till 2025.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has called the youngster one of the most exciting players in the game at the moment and tips him to achieve his potential at the club.
“As a club, we have followed Amad for a number of years and having watched him myself, I believe he is one of the most exciting young prospects in the game” Solskjaer said of Diallo.
“Manchester United has such a proud history of developing young players and everything is in place to enable Amad to reach his potential here.
“It will take time for him to adapt but his speed, vision and fantastic dribbling ability will stand him in good stead to make the transition. He is a player with all of the raw attributes that are needed to be an important player for Manchester United in the years to come.”
Having waited so long to complete his move to Old Trafford, Diallo called it a dream come through and his visa which had been an issue is presently having positive progress and ones that has been issued the Ivorian will then be able to join Solskjaer and his team.
Manchester United announced they had signed Diallo on the final day of the previous transfer window and the teenager will be able to start training with the club by next week.
“This is a really exciting squad with so many great players, I can promise that I will work hard every day to learn from them and give everything to develop my game. The coaches have been fantastic since I signed, we have been in touch regularly and they have already given me a lot of great advice.
“I have had time to prepare for this move, both physically and mentally, and I have worked really hard to be ready to make the step up to this amazing club.”
United were able to get Diallo with £37.5m Fee after making kit two appearances for Atalanta this season, ones in the domestic league against Hellas Verona and against FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Champions League.
