Former four Division champion Adrien Broner will be heading back into the ring against Pedro Campa according to multiple sources. The fight will take place on the 13th of February and will be televised by Showtime at a location yet to be announced.
Broner (33-4-1, 24KOs) has been in training for a while, even before the Christmas Holidays and has since intensified his training, bringing in Sparing partners that bring to his training, the likeness of Campa and his fighting style.
Broner will be making his first appearance in the ring after a two year stint away. His last outing was the unanimous decision loss to Eight Division Champion Manny Pacquiao in January 2019 and before then was a split draw with Jesse Vargas back in April 2018.
There has been no announcement by Showtime or the management of the fighter which has prompted the silence from representatives to rules guiding unannounced events.
Broner has won titles at four separate divisions and his biggest wins include his title wins over Antonio DeMarco in Nov. 2012 and welterweight Paul Malignaggi within seven months. His other title wins include his Vacant title claims at Junior Lightweight and Junior welterweight divisions, both of which he lost on the scales during the build up to his Knockout victories over Vicente Escobedo and Ashley Theophane in 2012 and 2016 respectively.
Campa (31-1-1, 21KOs) will be making his United States debut and will be fighting for the first time since October 2019. The fight will be the biggest test if his professional career.
Sources have also confirmed that Showtime is about to embark on a very busy Calender which will also include midweek cards which will take a similar pattern to Jan. 20 (ShoBox) and Jan. 23 (SCB).
