Manchester United pulled off a stunning 1 – 3 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium, a win that fires them into the Champions League Qualification spots of the Premier League table.
The Hammers were excellent with the ball from the opening whistle and were able to create an attempt even in their first spell off possession. They had a goal ruled out in the ninth minute after Bowen was able to bring down Caufal’s cross, bringing it down for a low finish.
United had the possession but didn’t have any break through in the final third. They had an awful display, with West Ham continually getting close to an opener with Fornal’s ball going off the post. The Red Devils eventually got punished in the 38th minute when, from the corner Bowen sends the ball towards the near post and Tomas Soucek fires in from close range before the United defence were able to react.
The game should have ended 2 nil in the first half but luck was a United as Fornal was able to beat Henderson, rounding him and with composure went through two Manchester United defenders, however, he lost the ball after Henderson came back to clear the ball off his legs.
Ole made changes at the stroke of half time, bring in Rashford and Bruno Fernandez in his bid to change the game. The intensity changed in favour of United and chances in The final third were now getting frequent and as expected, Manchester got leveled, five minutes after the hour mark.
The goal wasn’t expected but a great goal from Paul Pogba is always welcomed. Henderson cleared his lines and with that was able to send Bruno Fernandez into space and the Portugese was creative enough to find Paul Pogba with a cross and the Frenchman netted his second Premier League goal since April.
Manchester United took the lead with a stunning build up and a pint of creativity from Mason Greenwood. Fernandez was able to pick Tellez out with a through pass and his cross meets Greenwood in the West Ham box. Howbeit, he was ahead of the ball and had to creatively stop the ball before firing past Fabianski.
The Red Devils doubled the led in another 10 minutes with Rashford the man to get in the scoresheet. Mata was able to send Rashford into space with a first time pass and Rashford made no mistake this time, raising the ball above the keeper for a sweet finish.
