UFC 257 Prediction : Conor McGregor KOs Dustin Poirier In One Round – Covington
December 25, 2020
Welterweight contender Colby Covington has dropped an early prediction ahead of the anticipated rematch between former two division champion Corner McGregor and top contender Dustin Poirier, who both meet in an anticipated match up at UFC 257 in Yasin Abu Dhabi on Jan 28.
Dustin Poirier first met with Conor McGregor at UFC 178 in a Featherweight bout, where the Irishman finished off Poirier in the first round. Since then both have improved, McGregor has gone on to become a champion in two weight classes and Poirier has moved up in weight.
However, Covington (16-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC), who was formerly a teammate with Dustin Poirier at American Top Team believes Conor McGregor will require less than two minutes to take out Poirier, just like he did in their first meeting at Featherweight.
“My best fake friend Dustin Sorrier,” Covington told Submission Radio. “All I can say guys, is you guys make sure you got the Kleenex ready at the press conference, because you know Dustin Sorrier is gonna break down on the mic, he’s gonna cry to the world, get everybody to feel sympathy and feel bad for him. He’s gonna get sparked again in the first round, because he’s completely washed up and has no chin anymore and no heart.”
Colby Covington spent more that a decade at American Top Team but recently departed from the Gym due to spats with the likes of Dustin Poirier and Jorge Masvidal, even so bad that Covington was now having his own tailor-made training sessions.
The issues between the Poirier and Covington left the owner of the gym ( Dan Lambert) unhappy, which also led to Covington being forced to give an apology to Poirier. Now that Covington is no longer with American Top Team and now with MMA masters, he no longer has issues with his former teammate.
“It’s not gonna be competitive,” Covington added. “I think Conor’s just gonna spark him first round. Just get the Kleenex ready, cause Dustin’s gonna be crying up a storm at the press conference and getting everybody to feel bad for him. ‘Wah-wah, feel bad for me, I didn’t accomplish my dream.’ Yeah, cause you’re a (expletive). You didn’t work hard enough for it. What is up with society these days? People think that everyone should get a participation trophy. Dustin needs his safe space. Go in your safe space, Dustin.”
