Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp was honoured with the FIFA best men’s coach ahead of Leeds United Marcelo Bielsa and Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick with former Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger handing him the Award at the FIFA Best Awards which took place on the 17th Of December.
The Award was capped up by Four Liverpool Players making it to the “Men’s Team Of The Year” with the only other English player in the squad being Manchester City Kevin De’bryne. Lucy Bronze took the Women’s Best Player award after winning a third successive title with Lyon last season before moving to City in the summer. Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-Min won the award for best Goal of the year for his solo goal against Burnley in December last year
Liverpool finished the 2019/ 2020 season on a strong note with a double, winning the UEFA Champions League and ending a 30 year wait for the Premier League trophy. However, Klopp who received the trophy for the second successive time gave credit to his coaching staff and the “Boy” for their efforts to make a reality.
“I have to thank these boys. What we did in the last few years was really special.”
Liverpool players in the FIFA Eleven included Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara. Bayern Munich keeper Manuel Neuer was chosen ahead of Allison for the Best Goalkeeper Of The Year Award. However the Brazilian made it to the FIFA Eleven ahead of him. Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk were in Bayern Munich title winning team, while Thiago Alcantara made it helping Bayern Munich last season.
Polish striker Robert Lewandowski led the front line in the FIFA Eleven Squad after beating Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to the FIFA Best Player Of The Year Award. They were both fixed on both flanks of the line up.
