Chelsea FC executed a 0 – 4 trashing tn their host Sevilla in their visit to Spain on Wednesday night. Thanks to 4 wonderful goals from Olivier Giroud in Match Day 5 of Group E fixtures, which confirms the Blues will end the group stage, top of the group.

With both teams already qualified for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League , the game was mostly a battle for supremacy and Giroud already made clear from as early as the eight minute of the game.

Havertz made a big run from his own half, unchallenged before picking Giroud’s left leg and the Frenchman made an easy finish from 12 yards, beating Pastor to put Chelsea ahead. Sevilla looked to reply immediately, forcing Mendy to make a number of saves.

Sevilla dominated the game and Rakitic, former Barcelona midfielder kept showing his class in the midfield breaking up the Chelsea defence but Sevilla 10 shots in the first half only had two on target as they failed to capitalise on those opportunities, coupled with a wonderful display of goalkeeping by Mendy.

Giroud needed another nine minutes after the break to double the Chelsea lead. This time showed so much class, settling the debate and shutting all his critics with another Wonderful finish. He was able to pick up the ball from Kovacic, Fakes a shot that left Gomez behind and lifts the ball over Pastore to put the Blues two up in the 54th minute.

Chelsea controlled the game from then and had a few chances to make their lead three with the best chance wasted by Callum Hudson-Odoi but still their press paid off eventually in the 74th, when Kante spots Giroud with a nice ball from the flank. The Frenchman netted with a wonderful header to complete a perfect hat-trick.

Things got worst for Sevilla as Giroud made his goal tally four, after already breaking the record for the Oldest player to score a hat-trick since Ferenc Puskas did it in 1965 against Feyenoord. The Frenchman got bundled down in the box by Gomez, who picked up a card and caused a Penalty. Giroud picked the ball and buried it in the top corner sending Pastor the wrong way in the 83rd minute.

The win leaves Chelsea with 13 points in Group E while Sevilla remain second with 10 points.
