Congolese contender Martin Bakole picked up one of the biggest wins in his professional Career with a unanimous decision over Sergey Kuzmin, claiming the WBC International Heavyweight tittle on Anthony Joshua Vs Kubrat Pulev Card, Saturday at the SSE Arena in London.
Bankole was composed throughout the fight and was able to subdue Kuzmin’s aggression with his accurate Jab. He was able to earn a 98-92, 97-93 and 96-94 on the Judge’s score card.
Bakole found his range, early in the first round, connecting on Kuzmin heavy right hands and complimented his combinations with crisp bodyshots. Bakole was trouble for Kuzmin in the second round with a thudding left hook, he invited Kuzmin into a fiery exchange but ones satisfied, he referred to his Jab and controlled the distance.
Kuzmin showed threats at close quarters in the fourth, landed a huge body shot on Bakole and was able to connect a big left hook in the fifth. bakole was able to adjust after being at the receiving end of those shots. He started boxing at distance keeping Kuzmin at Bay through the sixth and seventh.
Kuzmin showed more eagerness to engage in the eight and was able to connect a devastating uppercut but Bakole adjusted again after that keeping him far with his Jab through the Jab. The 10th round was more of the same as Kuzmin was busy looking for a finishing punch, connected a big hook but Bakole took it, held on to stay in title contention.
