Everton 1 – 0 Chelsea Highlights & Recap : Mendy’s Mistake Ends Blues Unbeaten Run

Frank Lampard’s reunion with Carlo Ancelotti wasn’t so pleasant as Chelsea ended up losing a 1 – 0 to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday night, ending their 17 game unbeaten record in all competitions this season.
Everton were able to get back to the winning side after losing their last two premier league games against Manchester UNited and Leeds United and were able to score against Chelsea, who have not conceded in their last three Premier League outings.
The London Blues went over to Merseyside with hopes of getting the three much needed three points to catapult them to the top of the Premier League table but succumbed to a 1 Nil loss, Courtesy of the Sigurdsson prowess from the penalty spot and his first goal of the 2021 Premier League season.
Everton have been rather unfortunate in their last seven outings as they have only picked up a win. They started the season with four successive victories we hich sent them to the top of the Premier League, but has since then lost their bearing. Hopefully this kickstarts another run of victories for the Merseysiders.
Mendy has been exceptionally good this season since signing up with the Londoners and has been the main man behind the Chelsea’s goal record however, his tackle on Calvert Lewin was wild and that came back to hurt the Blues. Sigurdsson was able to send The keeper the wrong direction and scored the goal which ended up deciding the game.

Reece James almost had the Blues leveled with a thunderous strike four minutes later and in the 37th minute linked up with Kovacic in what ended with a shot over the goal. Everton were able to close out the first half with the lead and eventually took home a victory with the goal.
The win pushes Everton up to the seventh spot of the Premier League with 20 points, while Chelsea remain 2nd with justvtwo points behind league leaders Tottenham Hotspur.
