Arsenal FC have had a pretty tough season so far but we’re able to overcome their underdog status, defeating Chelsea 3 – 1 in their Boxing day clash at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners went seven games without a win before the game and were just four points from the relegation zone. The youthful Arsenal were too much for the Blues, outclassing them in all ramifications to head back into the win column.
Reece James got was penalised for a foul on Keiran Tierney in the penalty box, Alexandra Lacazette concerted the opportunity fr the spot in the 34th minute. Granit Xhaka gave Arsenal their first two goal halftime lead of the season with a stunning ffreekick.
Bukayo Saka skillfully sent a long range loop over Mendy few minutes into the second half to make the game 3 – 0. Tammy Abraham picked up a consolation for the visitors, which looked to have sparked a late rally but time wasn’t on Frank Lampard’s side as Benrd Leno made things worst for them by stopping Jorginho’s late penalty.
Arsenal’s cmvuctiey was their first in almost two months, spanning November 1st. They have now moved up to fourteen on the Premier League table and are now eight points behind Chelsea, who drop to sixth and missed their opportunity to go second in the Premier League table.
Mikel Arteta found a way to facilitate a spark in the Gunners as their slow start to games, evidently affected them in their seven game winless run. However, adding youth to their attack made the difference as the Gunners left the game happy after such a long period without a win.
